Whether you have been in a relationship for 2 months, 6 months, 1 year, or more, easy romantic behaviors can help make your relationship healthy and fun. Making the effort to add more romance isn’t just for people who want to avoid getting stuck in a loveless marriage (or a sexless marriage); every couple can benefit, no matter how content they might be already.  I took out time to put together a few tips on how you can be more romantic in your relationship. A little inspiration from this piece won’t hurt, right?

First, Work On Yourself

Happiness comes from within. For you to be happy and more romantic in your relationship, you need to be able to focus on yourself. Examine those red flags you might have; depression, anger issues, low self-esteem, anxiety, trust issues, etc. You can communicate this with your partner and make them understand that you’re currently working on changing this behavior and habit but while you are at it, you should be responsive enough to your partner’s needs.

It is what you have you can give. If you have happiness it would reflect in your relationship.

Stay Connected with your partner through communication

The secret to a romantic relationship is healthy communication. Communication makes you feel safe with your partner and grows trust. When you stop communicating well with your partner, there is this unsafe disconnection it brings to your relationship. As simple as this sounds, communicating with your partner will help build your relationship and also make you open up to your partner regarding any issue you may be facing. Your partner is the best person to do your “amebo” with. Spice your relationship by communicating with your partner through any possible channel. If you can’t call your partner at a particular time, send voice notes on WhatsApp, send relatable posts on Instagram, you can even send cheesy and funny messages via email and LinkedIn. It’s the little things that count. It just shows how deliberate you are.

Plan A Fun Activity Every Week

I believe, there is nothing like a honeymoon phase with the love of your life. Make every day the honeymoon phase. Come up with fun activities you can involve in every week. I understand that the pandemic has restricted movements and it may be hard to have late-night dinner. But who said you can’t do dinner at home? Or through a video call. You can also play fun games like 20 questions to ask your partner, truth or dare or even learn a skill together. It’s all about making each moment count.

Celebrate Your Small and Big Wins Together

Your partner should be your no.1 fan. Therefore, celebrating your success with that person should be a thing of joy. Celebrate your little achievements with your partner; it could be a promotion at work, a new job, family upliftment, etc. This has a positive effect on your relationship and makes it more exciting. To celebrate, you can plan a special homemade dinner or write your words of excitement on a card and send whatever gift your partner loves. It could even be Reliancehmo you get as a gift for your partner. Whatever it is, it’s the intention that matters.

Revisit—or get to writing—those vows

If it’s been a while, it’s always good to remind yourself and your partner what made you both take the bold step to date or marry each other. What were those qualities that brought you guys together in the first place? If you know it, try to write them down and remind yourself of them. If you’re married, write down those vows you made to your partner and read them. These vows are better than any tips any expert can give you.

Regularly Tell Your Partner What You Love about them

Your partner’s love language may not be words of affirmation, but everyone likes to feel good every once in a while. It doesn’t cost anything to be thankful—and expressing gratitude for your partner shows that you notice and appreciate their efforts.  Tell them you love their energy or how they react to disagreements or how you love the way they love you. Be specific with what qualities you value the most to indicate you’re paying close attention. Ultimately, small efforts to show recognition will make your partner feel seen.

I hope this brings spice to your relationship, share this with your partner to keep the good vibes going. You can share how this helped your relationship in the comment section.
